Climbing is not included of my travelling list. But i put it on my Bucket List, means "i want to do at least once in life time". The reason why i dont want to climb just about matter of phobia. I am claustrophobia, scared of highness. Whenever i step up on the high spot, even building inside, suddenly i lose my view focus, wet sweats too much, fear, i can't breath right. Thats what i feel since i was kid.Another reason is just because i am not good enough for physic strenght. It caused i am too lazy to work out. But...as i wrote before, "climbing: has been my bucket list, so i have to do that. So in last year, i dare to climb for the first time. Without preparation, just based on own planning since i saw my friends photos when he climbed this area. I was interested to try. I asked him with many questions such as : "was it safe for beginner climber like me ?" "Did it had dangerous track ?" or " I never worked out, if i climbed without worked out first, was it would been fine ?"
And then...just because i met the right person with the same passion...on one sunday morning, we decided to climbed this mountain. It was......Ancent Fire Mount aka Api Purba Mountain.
actually, for the expert climber, going to the peak is not really "climb". Why ? because we just need one until one half hours to reach the peak. "Api Purba" mount also popular by "Nglanggeran" Mount. It locate Baturagung Karst Area.Million times ago,Nglanggeran Mount was a (active) volcanoe. From the peak, it will be the best spot for sunrise view.Nglanggeran Area consist of two side area, East Peak Side and Gede Peak Side. And at that moment, we didn't know, we just know what we passed through was Nglanggeran Mount. We can reach the East Peak Side just by motorcycle, but Gede Peak Side nor. We have to climb and tracking. Based on the upper photo, after we climbed up by the rope, we woul found the narrow gap, we were between two big stones. To reach the peak, we must climb the wooden stairs one by one. I am not really sure if you are extralarge size, whether you can or not pass this area. Firstly, i was worry if the stairs was not strong enough for my weigh, but since i trusted, yes...i did !. But you must stay be carefull, because moss makes stairs be slippery.
Need extra powers to keep climb and climb. But dont worry, even you never climb or tracking before, you will reach the peak finally. Another suggestion, please use the right shoes and bag. Please dont copy me, since i didnt have any preparation time, i just used totebag and sandals. Sandals will cause trouble when comes rain. Almost surface are still clay. When rain comes, it will be slippery. Be carefull
Basen on History, Nlanggeran's name came from "Planggaran" means "every bad habit will always trapped". Another version also say it comes from "Langgeng" means "safe and harmony".On the javanesse believe culture, this mount was guarded by Kyi Ongko Wijoyo and Punokawan. Punokawan is one of The Puppet Character. On the other miythology, Nglanggeran Higlands was surrounded by a dragon, which has power to cure all various diseases. We can find the Termas Tree (but i didnt visited it) with snakes look-alike shape. This tree has water medicine. But not all peoples can drink, since only a diviner can do the special ritual to make this tree results this 'special water'.
There are many histories and believe lie within. In the other hand, believe or not, Nglanggeran Mount has beautiful scenery. On the top of this mountain, i felt so close to clouds (and God). SO thats why, i decide to wrote down all my dreams on paper airplane. I wish all my dreams come true....Amen.^^. See you on next adventure...
